Instructions to Install a PS3 Game in PKG Format

Instructions to Install a PS3 Game in PKG Format on RPCS3

  1. Go to C:/retrobat/emulators/rpcs3/.
  2. Launch RPCS3.
  3. If you haven’t already, it’s recommended to update RPCS3. To do this, go to “Help” -> “Check for Updates”.
  4. Open the “File” -> “Install Packages” menu.
  5. Locate the game directory, where you will see two PKG files.
  6. Install the larger PKG file first.
  7. Then, install the smaller PKG file.
  8. Some games may also include a .RAP file, which is required to unlock content in certain titles. If you find a .RAP file, install it the same way.

Once completed, you can launch the game from RPCS3 and enjoy.

  • Navigate to “Retrobat/emulators/RPCS3/”
  • Open RPCS3
  • Go to “File – Add Games”

  • Click “Select Folder”
  • Run the game in RPCS3 to complete the installation
  • Once installed, you can start playing!

Fixing Issues with Installed PS3 Games in RPCS3 (Updates)

Some installed games on RPCS3 may not work properly or fail to launch. For example, Minecraft did not run after installation, so we will install updates to fix the issue.

In some cases, games require updates to function correctly. The process is simple—just install PKG update files, as shown in the tutorial.

Steps to Install Updates:

  • Go to “Retrobat/emulators/RPCS3/”
  • Open RPCS3.exe
  • Navigate to “File – Install PKG”
  • Locate and select the update files
  • Wait for the updates to install
  • Relaunch the game
  • Enjoy playing!

Note: You can find game updates in the “updates” folder on our server. If a game requires an update that is missing, just request it, and we will upload it for you!
